Kanata Research Park Family Centre

A family resource centre and licensed not for profit early learning and care program for children from eighteen months to twelve years of age. Nestled in Kanata North area within the Kanata Research Park Campus. A workplace early learning and care agency which offers priority to the families who work within the KRP campus. Full time and part time options available ( toddler and preschool programs) Family centred approach to early learning and care On site full day kindergarten program offered by 3 registered early childhood educators (enhanced ratio) Nutritious meals and snacks prepared on site www.krpfamilycentre.com for more information Program:1 WE DO NOT PROVIDE AN INFANT PROGRAM. We are able to offer a limited number of children under aged children (16-18 months of age) in our toddler program provided they are fully walking, steady and having only one afternoon nap a day. Program:2 In a warm, responsive environment children are encouraged to construct their own knowledge and practice their developing skills. The maximum group size is fifteen children with 3 registered early childhood educators. The educators provide a play based curriculum which is fostered by childrens interests and developmentally appropriate practice. Toddlers are naturally very curious about the world around them and this is supported in a positive manner. Program:3 Our preschool programs provide a rich variety of learning experiences which encourage the child to be actively engaged in meaningful play. The planned curriculum is focused age appropriate play based opportunities and include indicators of learning. There is one registered early childhood educator for every eight children. Program:4 Our on site full day kindergarten program is offered by 3 registered early childhood educators with a maximum class size of 26 children. The educators follow and extend on the kindergarten program curriculum which is found on the Ministry of Education website. Our kindergarten program has an emphasis on learning through hands on experiences with nature and the exploring the natural surroundings. The children in our kindergarten program will experience many opportunities to learn science, math and literacy in a tangible manner. The children are motivated by their own desire to learn and well prepared to be life long learners.Program:5 We offer a before and after school option for children in JK/SK that attend St. Isidore Catholic School Only. Full days on all PD days, March Break and one week between Christmas and New Years. All meals and snacks are prepared on site and provided to the children who attend our before and after school program.
