Casa Program: Fostering self-esteem through independence and love of learning...
Preschoolers learn in unique ways, they have an innate desire to imitate the actions of the people around them and are very sensitive and aware of details in their environment, making this an opportune time to grasp new skills.
The LSM Casa (or Preschool) Program develops the building blocks for learning in a Montessori based environment that fosters all areas of early development – intellectual, physical, emotional, and social. We believe that a stimulating, language rich, social learning environment is an imperative part of early development. Our bright classrooms are specifically designed to offer space for movement, space for individual work, space for team work and group activities. The meticulously designed environments are a cornerstone of our program.
The Casa Program Curriculum incorporates development within Montessori areas of Practical Life, Grace & Courtesy, Sensorial, Math & Science, Geography, Botany, Culture, Language (English & French), Arts, Music and Physical Education.

LSM offers full day Junior & Senior Kindergarten Programs intended to prepare students with the skill-set for future schooling and to create a smooth and successful transition to elementary school. Kindergarten has become LSM’s most popular program. Children join the Kindergarten Program based on age, approximately by 3.8 years or based on the child's development level.
Auditory skills, phonics reading skills, writing practice, Mathematics concepts, Science and Geography experiments, class projects and fieldtrips are consolidated into the KG Program Curriculum. The aim of the Kindergarten Program is two-fold. One is to prepare students with the academic and social skill set required by the Ontario Ministry of Education for transition to elementary school. Second is to set students ahead of the basic requirements by allowing them to grasp advanced concepts using Montessori materials and teaching techniques which will lead them to excel in future school years.
As children reach the Kindergarten stage, many parents are concerned about transition to elementary school. A growing concern noticed in elementary schools is that children often struggle with academic concepts in Math, Science and Language along with social skills such as self-confidence and public speaking. We feel that this struggle can be avoided when children attain a solid foundation through their Kindergarten learning years. Completing Senior Kindergarten at LSM will ensure your child gets a smooth transition and stands out in terms of excellent academic & social preparation.
